The Boeing 787 Dreamliner family is a group of new super-efficient airplanes, which include the 787-8, 787-9, and 787-3. Customer is developing a Flight Control Electronics (FCE) for the Boeing 787-8. The FCE system elements are interconnected to provide full-time FBW control of the airplane, high lift functions, and automatic flight control including autoland.
EXB reviewed FCE system and software requirements, design, and code to determine testability of requirements per DO-178B Level A. EXB documented discrepancies and provided explanations of why a change to the software requirements was necessary, as well as, high-level management briefing material identifying problems that could affect the ability of the FCE to certify.
EXB developed the DO-178B Level A checklists used to perform requirements, design, and code analysis.
